How to Identify Wild Chrysanthemum

1. Stems and leaves

The stems of wild chrysanthemum are spreading or erect. The stems and branches have sparse hairs, with more hairs on the upper part and on the flowering branches. The stems and leaves in the middle are oblong, elliptical-ovate or ovate, pinnately lobed or with serrated edges, the base is nearly cordate or truncated, and both sides are almost the same color, light green, or both sides are olive after drying.

2. Flowers

Wild chrysanthemum has a capitulate inflorescence with a diameter of 1.5-2.5 cm. Most of them are in the form of umbel panicles or a few are in the form of umbels at the top of the stems and branches. The involucre has about 5 layers, the outer layer is ovate-triangular or ovate, the middle layer is ovate, and the inner layer is oblong. The bracts are white or brown in color. Apex obtuse or rounded. The ligulate flowers are yellow in color. The flowering period is from June to November.
