Can rice water be used to water flowers directly?

Rice water can be used to water flowers. Rice water is mixed with a small amount of bran and broken rice grains. It is rich in phosphorus, nitrogen and other trace elements and nutrients needed for plant growth, which can promote the healthy growth of plants.

However, rice water cannot be used directly for watering flowers . It can only be used after fermentation. Unfermented rice water will naturally ferment in the soil, and heat will be generated during the fermentation process, which will burn the roots of plants, affect their growth, and in severe cases, cause the death of plants.

What flowers are best watered with rice water?

After fermentation, rice water will contain strong acidic substances, which is more suitable for plants growing in acidic soil, such as rhododendron, hydrangea, coleus, camellia, gardenia, rose, jasmine, osmanthus, wisteria, etc. Watering these plants with fermented rice water will make the leaves of the plants thick green and the flowers more colorful.

How to water flowers with rice water

1. Fermentation

Put the rice water into the prepared transparent container and seal it. Then place it in the sun to ferment and decompose. Wait for about a week until the water in the container becomes clear, and the fermentation is complete.

2. Dilution

Fermented rice water cannot be used directly to irrigate plants, otherwise it will cause the soil to become too acidic or even hardened, which is not conducive to the growth of plants. It should be diluted with clean water in a ratio of 1:10 before watering.

3. Pay attention to the frequency of watering

The frequency of watering plants with rice water should not be too often. Usually, watering the plants with fermented and diluted rice water 1-2 times a month can make the plants' branches and leaves fat and strong.
