The growing environment and local conditions of succulents

Succulent growth environment and conditions

Succulents generally grow in desert areas, but there are still some that do not grow in desert areas. They can also grow in other areas. Succulents are grown in Hebei Province and many southern provinces and cities in my country. They are generally more common in relatively barren and water-scarce areas.

Succulent growing conditions

Succulents have strong adaptability to temperature and are also cold-resistant, but they will stop growing when the temperature drops below 5 degrees. The leaves can remain intact and can withstand short-term low temperatures of minus 15 degrees.

Succulent growth temperature

Succulents prefer a cool climate. The most suitable growth temperature for them is between 5-30 degrees. The growth temperature of their stems and leaves is above 20 degrees. When flower buds are differentiating, the temperature must be maintained between 5-15 degrees.

Succulent growth process

Succulent plants are very small when they are young. They develop from leaves or rhizomes. At the beginning, they will grow millet-shaped leaves, about 2-4 pieces. After careful cultivation, the leaves will gradually grow bigger and stems will gradually grow. Branches will grow in about 90 days.

Succulent planting time and method

Succulents can be planted most of the time throughout the year. They have relatively high requirements for the soil for planting. Generally, no base fertilizer is needed during planting. Excessive fertilizer will harm the seedlings. When watering, do it in small amounts and water evenly.
