Why do gardenias drop their buds?

Why do gardenias drop their buds?

1. Excessive watering

It is a relatively rare variety and difficult to maintain. During daily maintenance, if you water too much or too frequently, a large amount of water will accumulate in the potting soil. The soil inside will become very moist, the roots of the plants growing in it will rot, and the flower buds will naturally fall off.

Solution: If this phenomenon occurs, you need to control the amount of watering in time and change the pot when necessary. Although it likes a humid environment and needs timely replenishment of water during its growth period, the frequency of replenishment should be reduced in winter and never too much.

2. Insufficient nutrients

When its flowers bloom, they need nutrients to grow. If the plant consumes nutrients for growth but is not supplied in time, it will easily lead to the flower buds falling off, especially when there is a lack of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which will be particularly obvious.

Solution: Provide nutrients to the plant in time according to its growth, but the concentration of fertilizer should not be too high, as it will easily burn the roots. The supplementation of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers is critical to the growth of the plant.

3. Insufficient light

If it is placed indoors for a long time, without sunlight for a long time, and kept covered for a long time, the flower buds will fall off.

Solution: You can place it in a place where it can be exposed to light for maintenance. If it is in a dark environment for a long time, you can put it in a bright sunny place for a while at intervals.
