Succulents have a cute appearance, are hardy and easy to grow, and basically many flower lovers like to plant a pot of them at home or in the office. How to plant so many succulents ? Let’s learn more about it below. 1. Soil selection If you want to grow succulents, you need to choose soil that is breathable and easy to drain. You can mix ordinary garden soil and sandy soil in a ratio of 1:2. Note that the soil needs to be disinfected in advance to avoid intrusion by pests and diseases. 2. Seed selection First, choose the variety according to your personal preference, and then choose the succulent seeds that grow well and are relatively full, which can usually be bought at the flower market. 3. Planting time The best time to plant succulents is usually between March and May in spring, when the climate is mild and the temperature is suitable, which is conducive to increasing their survival rate and accelerating rooting and germination. 4. Sowing method When sowing, because the seeds are relatively small, we can first put the seeds on a piece of white paper, and then use a toothpick dipped in water to put the seeds in the flowerpot. Remember not to cover the soil after putting them in, and make sure the seeds are on the soil surface. Then put a layer of plastic wrap on it and poke some small holes with a toothpick to increase ventilation. After that, you can put it in a place with better light and wait for it to germinate. 5. Post-maintenance (1) Temperature: The most suitable growth temperature for succulents is 15-20 degrees. High temperatures should be avoided in summer, and insulation measures should be taken in winter to ensure that the temperature is not lower than 10 degrees to avoid frost damage. (2) Light: Succulent plants generally like light. Adequate sunlight can provide them with sufficient nutrient accumulation, allowing them to grow more vigorously. However, it is not resistant to strong light, and appropriate shading measures need to be taken when the light is too strong in summer. (3) Water and fertilizer: In terms of watering, succulents are drought-resistant and should follow the principle of "watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet", that is, watering after the soil surface is dry. In addition, succulents do not require much fertilizer , and generally a thin liquid fertilizer can be applied once a month during the growth period. (4) Pruning: You can prune succulents appropriately when they are growing vigorously, but it is best to maintain their original shape. Just remove the old yellow branches and leaves appropriately and prune it. In general, growing succulents is not very difficult, but different varieties have slightly different growth habits, which should be paid special attention to during the planting process. For novice friends, it is recommended that you try planting some common crops.
