How to grow camellia quickly

How to grow camellia quickly

1. Suitable soil

Choosing the right soil when first planting is very important for the rapid growth of the plant. Choose loose, fertile, and acidic soil. You can use red soil, so it is a very good acidic soil. However, in order to improve its breathability, some small sand particles can be mixed in.

2. Sufficient water

During the growth period, if there is a lack of water, the plant's growth rate will become very slow. If the soil is too dry, the roots will be damaged. Therefore, in order for it to grow quickly, it must be provided with sufficient water. Water when you see the soil is dry, and water thoroughly, but make sure there is no water accumulation. In summer, when evaporation is very active, you can also spray some water appropriately.

3. Proper lighting

Long-term lack of light or excessive light may cause the plant to stop growing. Therefore, it is best to provide sufficient diffuse light during its growth period, such as placing it on a balcony, windowsill, etc.

4. Sufficient nutrients

When the plant is growing rapidly, there may not be enough nutrients in the soil, and if they are not replenished, the plant will grow slowly. Therefore, in order to meet the needs in time during the growth period, fertilizer is generally required once a week. A little more nitrogen fertilizer can be used. In addition, follow the principle of "applying small amounts of fertilizer frequently".

5. Prune at the right time

Proper pruning can promote the sprouting of new branches. Cutting off old branches can reduce nutrient consumption and supply newly sprouted branches. Generally, pruning can be done once in February or March to remove old, weak and diseased branches.
