How to grow the bird's nest

How to grow the bird's nest

1. Breeding environment

(1) Soil: It should have good drainage and rich nutrients. You can mix leaf mold and garden soil evenly, half each, and then add a small amount of river sand.

(2) Light: The plant likes light and will easily lose leaves if there is insufficient light, so sufficient light must be provided. However, it is also afraid of strong light and needs shade in summer.

(3) Fertilization: Generally, it is not necessary to apply too much fertilizer. However, when the growth is poor, you can use some fertilizer containing potassium to help it grow.

(4) Temperature: preferably between 15 and 32 degrees. It is best not to drop below seven degrees in winter, and at worst not to drop below four degrees, otherwise the plants will freeze to death. It should not be too high in summer, otherwise it will go dormant.

(5) Watering: The number of watering times varies in different seasons. During the growing season, in spring and autumn, it needs to be watered about once every one or two days. If it enters dormancy in summer, the interval should be extended, about once every two or three times. If it does not hibernate, it will be the same as in spring and autumn. In winter, reduce watering, keep the plant dry, or even stop watering altogether.

2. Regular pruning

The plant grows fast, so those branches and leaves that are too dense and too long need to be cut off in time to avoid consuming too much nutrients. In addition, those branches that hinder the viewing can be cut off to improve the viewing experience.

3. Repotting

When repotting, first put in a layer of coarse particles as a water filter. Add another layer of base fertilizer, and then the substrate. Separate the base of the plant from the basal fertilizer to avoid root damage.
