How to plant four-season primrose seeds

How to plant four-season primrose seeds

1. Choose a container

For the four-season primrose, it is suitable to be planted in a shallow pot with good drainage.

2. Choose a seed

When sowing, choose healthy seeds with full grains. In addition, one thing that needs to be noted is that the seed lifespan of four-season primrose is relatively short, so it needs to be sown immediately after harvesting. If you don't plant them right away, you can dry them indoors and store them sealed in the refrigerator.

3. Prepare the soil

Mix leaf mold, peat soil, manure soil and sandy soil evenly in a ratio of 3:1:1 as culture soil. You can also add an appropriate amount of fertilizer. This is not only beneficial to the germination of seeds, but also to the subsequent growth and development of the plants.

4. Choose a time

Generally, July or August is chosen for sowing.

5. Sowing and post-management

Put the prepared soil into the container. It does not need to be filled too full, but there should be a distance of one or two centimeters from the mouth of the pot. Then sow the seeds into the soil. Because the seeds are very small, there is no need to cover them with a layer of soil.

Next comes the control of various conditions. First of all, the temperature. Controlling it between fifteen and twenty degrees Celsius is more conducive to its germination. Another thing is humidity. Sufficient water is very beneficial for its sprouting. To achieve this goal, you can cover the container with a piece of glass or cover it with plastic film to keep it moist.

Ensure the conditions are suitable and wait for about a week or two, and it will sprout. When the seedlings have about five true leaves, they can be transplanted.
