Management of the flowering period of Rhododendron

Management of the flowering period of Rhododendron

Placement

This flower prefers a warm location, but cannot accept direct sunlight, so it should be placed in a cool location. It turns out that if the flowers are placed in a location with better ventilation, they can bloom for up to a month. So it can be seen that ventilation is relatively important for the opening of this kind of flower.

Flowering period regulation

They will basically bud in July and August. If you place them directly in a greenhouse in autumn and keep the temperature at around 20℃, they will bloom in about half a month. This method can also be used to make them open when needed, such as New Year's Day and Spring Festival.

Flowering period maintenance

summer

This is a more difficult season to grow them because they are more afraid of high temperatures. At this time, you basically need to water them 1-2 times a day to keep the pots moist, but you must not water them too much each time, as this will be detrimental to the growth of the plants. It is best to place it in a cool and ventilated place, away from too much sunlight. You can apply appropriate fertilizer and topdressing until it blooms, so that the flowers can grow better. During this period, the plants may also be attacked by armyworms. Once discovered, they must be reproduced immediately. In the early stages, spraying with dimethoate will suffice.

Spring and Autumn

The temperature greatly affects the time of flowering. Azalea is relatively cold-resistant and will not be frozen even if placed outdoors at -5℃. At this time, just place the flowers indoors. There is no need to water them unless the soil is dry.

Care after flowering

After the flowers fall, pick the remaining flowers directly and do not leave them on the paper strip. This will not only affect the appearance but also their growth. At the same time, pay attention to timely pruning. You can add a little fertilizer at this time to make up for the nutrients consumed during the flowering period.
