How to propagate colorful pineapple

Friends who choose this method must be cautious, because their seeds are difficult to fall naturally and be collected by us. However, artificial pollination can still be used, but this also has a disadvantage. They may not look exactly like the mother plant. It takes about three or four months from the time they bloom to the time they produce seeds. The seeds must be disinfected before sowing. The sown seeds do not need to be covered with soil, but they must be covered with glass or plastic film to keep them moist.

If handled properly, they will germinate in a week or two. At this point you can transplant it directly into a pot. However, flower lovers should be mentally prepared that it will take a long time for the plant to bloom using this cultivation method, perhaps three or four years.

Division

This method is to be carried out after the flowers have faded, basically in the three months of April, May and June. When the suckers grow to about 10 cm and have three or five leaves, you can take the whole plant out of the pot, remove the soil, hold the mother plant with one hand, and use the other hand to clamp the root of the sucker, while applying force diagonally downward to break the bud off. After the wound is sterilized and dried, it can be inserted into the prepared coarse sand. This method will allow new roots to grow within a month or two, and then the plant can be managed normally.

Cuttings

In fact, if we grow it at home like we do, we can choose this method. This method should be used before flowering, when the tiller buds grow to about 10 cm, and then they can be inserted into the prepared perlite or culture soil. However, it should be noted that if the buds are too small, they will not take root, but if they are too large, they will consume too much nutrients, so flower lovers need to be cautious when choosing.
