How to water the creeping bellflower

How to water the creeping bellflower

The plant's water requirements

This plant was originally grown in the faraway Americas, where the environment is generally warm and humid. Therefore, we can infer that this plant requires relatively more water and cannot tolerate drought, so it cannot lack water. However, it is not entirely true to say that it absolutely likes a humid environment, because it also does not like being soaked in water. Plants can tolerate short-term overwatering, but they cannot tolerate it over a long period of time.

Watering methods at different times

During the rapid growth period (generally the growth rate is faster in spring and summer), lack of water can be serious, and water is a very basic part. Therefore, you must ensure that the soil in the pot is kept moist. Basically, you must replenish water in time when the soil is about one centimeter dry. Do not wait until it is completely dry before watering. Otherwise, the flowers and leaves are likely to wither and even fall off, which is not a good sign. But don't water too much. Everything should be done in moderation, otherwise the plant's breathing will be hindered, and the roots will be harmed.

In autumn and winter, the temperature gets lower and lower, the growth and development of plants will become slower and slower, and the need for water will gradually decrease. You can start controlling watering from late autumn. In the cold winter, there is no need to water the plant.

Special reminder

In addition to watering at regular intervals and in fixed quantities, in very hot summers, you can also sprinkle some water around the plants or on their leaves every day to replenish the evaporated water in time. This is a very good method, but you need to pay attention to the timing. It is best to spray water in the morning and evening, not at noon.
