Difference Between Daisy and Aster

Difference Between Daisy and Aster

1. Different flowers

The daisy has a smaller flower shape, with individual petals that are relatively short and straight. It looks small and cute, but not particularly large. The bracts that make up the flower have at most two layers. The outer part is white, and the middle part is bright yellow, with a relatively fresh color.

The flower shape of aster is slightly larger than the former, and the bracts on the flower have three layers, and each layer is almost the same length. When it blooms, there are many colors, including blue-purple, red, light red, yellow, etc.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of daisy are spoon-shaped, with rounded tips that are not particularly pointed, and a grassy texture.

The leaves of aster are generally oval or oblong. The stems and leaves below the plant have basically fallen off. The leaves in the middle are diamond-shaped and oval, and are wider in the middle.

3. Different plant types

Daisy belongs to the genus Bellis and is quite common in our daily life. It is not very tall, about 10 cm. Sometimes, if the growing environment is suitable, it can be even taller.

Aster belongs to the genus Aster, also known as July chrysanthemum and Jiangxi wax chrysanthemum. The plant is relatively tall, about 30-100 cm in height.
