How to grow Dendrobium nobile well

How to grow Dendrobium nobile well

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It can be seen from its distribution range that it has relatively high requirements for temperature. Therefore, it is more suitable for it when the temperature is between 20 and 30 degrees. In winter, you cannot keep it in a place that is too cold for a long time, and the temperature cannot be lower than eight degrees, so as to ensure that it can safely survive the winter.

2. Light: Dendrobium nobile prefers a relatively shady environment, but it cannot be completely dark. Generally speaking, when it is in its growth stage, a shade level of 60% is more appropriate. When it is in the seedling stage, the shade needs to be increased, and 70% is more suitable. No shade is needed in winter.

3. Watering: Dendrobium nobile likes moisture. The soil moisture level should be between 60% and 70%, and the air humidity is preferably between 70% and 80%. It should be noted that water control is required in both summer and winter.

4. Fertilization: Dendrobium nobile does not require much fertilizer and can only be used in spring and autumn, once a month.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It can be propagated by division. The first thing is to choose a suitable mother plant, which should be strong and relatively large for breeding. Then, take it out of the soil, trim the root system, and it is also best to cut off any unsuitable branches. Once that is done, you can divide it into several parts. The separated small clumps need to be planted separately and then carefully cared for.

2. Repotting: Try to replace the soil in the pot once or twice a year. You can use leaf mold, sandy loam, etc. The soil can be dried in the sun before being replaced. After repotting, place it in a cool place.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: The seasons with the most diseases are summer and autumn. There are also many types of diseases, such as "soft rot", "black spot" and so on. You can use carbendazim for prevention and control, and cut off the infected parts as soon as possible.

2. Pests: There are many types, such as "snails", "non-shield scale insects", etc. The former can be controlled with lime, and the latter can be controlled with dimethoate solution.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: Dendrobium nobile is not poisonous, it is also a medicinal herb.

2. Can it be grown at home? Yes, its ornamental value is generally good, and potted plants can be used as decoration.
