How to propagate onions

How to propagate onions

Onion Planting Method

This method only requires choosing a suitable flowerpot and putting some soil in it. You can also use tools or your fingers to dig a small hole in the soil, about 20 to 30 mm deep. Put 4 to 5 seeds in the hole, a few seeds at intervals. After all the seeds are placed, water them with appropriate amount and place them on the balcony. This method is relatively simple to do, but we need to purchase onion seeds, and they will germinate very slowly, so this method is not recommended.

Scallion Root Method

This method will make onions grow very quickly and is also very easy to operate. When buying onions, we should pay attention to choosing some fresh ones with well-grown roots and must have root hairs. It would be even better if there is mud on them. The specific method is to cut off the onion roots and a small piece of onion white together, and plant them into the soil. Remember to leave part of the onion white outside so that it will be easier to survive. After planting, water the plants appropriately and you will see mature onions after a few weeks.

Onion sprout method

This method only requires you to buy some relatively fresh and healthy onion seedlings, then plant them directly in the pot, and then water them appropriately after planting. This method allows you to pick onion leaves and eat them at any time. Note that if you want to eat the onion stems, you need to use scissors to cut the part above the soil so that the onions can continue to grow.
