When do poinsettias bloom?

Poinsettia flowering period:

October to April of the following year.

This is its normal flowering period. Apart from this, its flowering period can also be adjusted, and many flower lovers have experimented with it and found no problems at all. There has been a detailed introduction on “How to control the flowering period of poinsettia” in the Flower Encyclopedia before, so I will not go into details here.

Maintenance before and after flowering:

Flower bud differentiation period: At this time, the suitable temperature for poinsettia must be higher than 15 degrees, otherwise it will seriously affect the growth of its leaves and flowers.

Flowering stage: The most important thing during flowering is to have good ventilation.

Sunlight: Both flower bud differentiation and blooming of flowers cannot be separated from sunlight, and it is best to receive sunlight all day. If there is not enough sunlight at this time, the color of the flowers will no longer be as bright as before, but will become dull, and it will also be easy to attract diseases and pests. If placed in a place where sunlight cannot reach for a long time, it will directly lead to a no-flowering period. If you want to extend the flowering time, sunlight can be a good helper. The plants should be exposed to sunlight for at least 8 to 9 hours a day.

Fertilizer: During the blooming season, fertilizer should be applied every 10 to 15 days. When autumn comes, shorten the interval between fertilization and apply fertilizer about once a week. After fertilizing 3 to 4 times in a row, you can resume normal fertilization.

Watering: Poinsettia is very drought-resistant, but not moisture-resistant, so you must be careful when watering. After the flowers bloom, you should reduce watering appropriately and do not let the soil be too wet or too dry.
