The difference between Qinglong grass and Cuiyun grass

The difference between Qinglong grass and Cuiyun grass

Distinguishing between the two plants

Morphological characteristics

Green cloud grass is a medium-sized climbing plant. Its stem can creep along the ground. Its branches are many and grow in a messy way. Its leaves are like an egg.

Green dragon grass is a relatively weak plant with soft and slender stems that usually grow to about 30 centimeters. A small amount of white powdery substance can be seen on the plant, and the roots can branch out into many branches, growing obliquely in all directions.

Blade characteristics

The leaves of the green cloud grass are intertwined to form a two-shaped shape. The surface of the leaves is relatively smooth, and the edges of the leaves are also relatively smooth, with obvious white edges. The leaves are distributed relatively loosely on the main stem, but are relatively large compared to those on the branches, and the color is dark green. The leaves growing from the main stem are heart-shaped, while the leaves growing from the branches are rounder and more symmetrical.

The leaves of Qinglong grass are like a thin line, about three centimeters long and one centimeter wide, with a relatively pointed top and separate veins. Green dragon grass can bloom white flowers with short pedicels, about three centimeters in length. Qinglong grass can also produce a kind of round nut, which is a lighter green in color. The surface of the nut has spider web-like veins. Qinglong grass will bloom every spring and produce nuts in early summer. Now that you know so much, you won’t have to worry about not being able to tell these two plants apart in the future.
