How to raise Xiaoyu

How to raise Xiaoyu

Family farming methods

Temperature and light

Xiaoyu likes a sunny, cool and dry growing environment. It is slightly cold-resistant and drought-resistant.

It can be exposed to full sunlight during the growing season. When the temperature is high, the growth of the plant will be slow and in some areas it will stop growing completely. It can be kept in a ventilated and cool place.

Spring and autumn are its growing seasons, and they need sufficient light at this time. Insufficient light will cause the leaves of the plant to grow too long, and the color of the leaves will change from purple-red to green. Plants grown in places with sufficient sunlight will be short and strong, and the leaves will be arranged compactly.

Moisture Management

During the growing season of Xiaoyu, you can give Xiaoyu enough water to allow it to grow fully.

In the hot and rainy summer weather, you should water sparingly to avoid rain and water accumulation in the center of the plant to prevent the plant from rotting due to lack of oxygen.

In winter maintenance, when the temperature reaches below 5 degrees, you can cut off the water. Keeping the soil in the pot dry can often help the plant survive the winter safely.

soil

The requirement for planting soil of Xiaoyu is that it should be loose, breathable and well-drained.

Reproduction method

The propagation of Xiaoyu can be done by cuttings and leaf cuttings, but cuttings are the most commonly used method.

The cut branches can be dried in a ventilated place for a few days, and then inserted into moist soil after the wound heals. Or they can be directly inserted into dry granular soil and given a small amount of water after a few days.

Precautions

Jade grows fast and can easily fill a pot, making it top-heavy. You can use stones to press down the shallow roots.

There are four key points in caring for succulents: the pot should be shallow, the soil should be loose, there should be few plants, and people should be lazy, all of which apply to the care of succulents.
