The cultivation methods and precautions of Tangyin

Family farming methods

temperature

The Tangyin, which originated in South Africa, is now cultivated all over the world, which shows that the Tangyin’s requirements for temperature are not very strict. The optimal breeding temperature range is 15-20℃.

It is slightly cold-resistant, but the temperature cannot be lower than 3℃, otherwise it is easy to get frostbite.

Watering

Spring and autumn are the growing seasons, so water the plants frequently, once every 1 to 2 weeks.

During the high temperatures of summer, the plants grow weakly and watering should be done in moderation to prevent rot.

The temperature is low in winter, so watering should be done in small amounts. If you see that the soil in the pot is dry, add some water to the soil, but do not allow water to accumulate.

Fertilization

During the growing season in spring and autumn, fertilize once every 10 days or so, and choose well-rotted thin fertilizer. Do not fertilize during hot summer months or cold winter months.

Reproduction

The propagation of Tangyin can be done by bud cuttings, leaf cuttings, or using stem segments with leaves as cuttings.

The breeding season should be chosen in spring and autumn when the growth is vigorous.

Repotting

Repot once every spring. The potting soil should be sandy loam with good drainage and air permeability. Be careful to avoid damaging the roots when repotting.

Precautions

Don't damage the leaves when watering or fertilizing

Tangyin is a foliage plant with a layer of pink and white dust on its leaves. If grown outdoors, it will be exposed to the sun and turn very red, making it very beautiful.

However, if fertilizer and water are added to the leaves during watering and fertilizing, the white powder will be washed away, affecting the ornamental value.

Tangyin Maintenance in Winter and Summer

Tangyin is a full-sun plant and can be grown outdoors all day long as it is not exposed to the scorching sun. In winter, special attention should be paid to full-sun maintenance.

During the hot summer season, improper watering will cause the plants to rot, so water must be controlled.
