Pothos

1. Fertilization

If you want your green radish to grow fast, applying the right fertilizer is the key!

(1) Compound fertilizer

Compound fertilizer contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other nutrients necessary for the growth of green radish, and the various nutrients are scientifically proportioned. Flower lovers who don’t know much about flower fertilizers can use compound fertilizers directly.

Compound fertilizer can be used as base fertilizer when repotting. The temperature is high in summer, so it is not suitable for repotting. You can dig a small hole next to the flowerpot, put 3-5 grains of compound fertilizer in it, and then bury it. If there is no abnormal reaction after use, add one or two grains next time as appropriate. Generally, fertilize once a month.

Note that compound fertilizer cannot be sprinkled directly on the surface of the potting soil, it must be buried, otherwise it will easily evaporate and affect the fertilizer efficiency.

(2) Organic liquid fertilizer

Organic fertilizer is actually the most suitable fertilizer for flowers and plants. Long-term use of inorganic fertilizer (chemical fertilizer) can easily cause the leaves to turn yellow. At this time, you need to use some organic fertilizer for the green radish.

Organic liquid fertilizer can be purchased or you can compost it yourself. When using, dilute it with water at a ratio of 1:2000, and then water it on the green radish.

When making your own organic liquid fertilizer, you need to put fruit peels, vegetable leaves, fish bones and other kitchen waste into a sealed plastic bottle, add water, and put it in the sun. It will basically be decomposed after a month in the summer. Take the clear liquid on the top when using it.

(3) Simple flower fertilizer

Many common little things in life can be used as fertilizers to grow green ivy.

Rice water is the most common and easiest to make nitrogen fertilizer. Put the rice water in a beverage bottle, seal it, and place it in the sun. It can be used in about a month. When using, simply dilute it with water in a ratio of 1:100 and water the flowers.

Eggshells are also a very easily available flower fertilizer. Wash the eggshells, crush them and sprinkle them on the surface of the soil in the pot to prevent pests such as snails from crawling into the pots. During the watering process, the nutrients in the eggshells can be slowly released to supplement the green radish with nutrients such as calcium, phosphorus, silicon, iron, magnesium, zinc, etc., making it clean and insect-proof.

Growing green radish in fish tank water is the most suitable method for lazy people. However, it should be noted that it is best to use a large fish tank with an oxygen pump in it, so that there are sufficient nutrients in the water and the roots of the green radish will not compete with the fish for oxygen.

The water in the fish tank contains fish excrement, which is a kind of organic nitrogen fertilizer with low fertilizer efficiency but long-lasting fertility. If you put the green radish in the fish tank for hydroponics, you don’t have to worry about watering or fertilizing. It’s so convenient!

Flower lovers who only have a small fish tank at home can also directly use the replaced fish tank water to water the green ivy.

2. Location

It is best for green radish to not be exposed to direct sunlight in the summer. Bright corners, the coffee table in the living room and near the north windowsill are all good places to place green radish. These places can receive scattered light and have relatively good ventilation conditions, which are very suitable for the growth of green radish.

3. Watering

The temperature is high in summer and the transpiration of the green radish is strong. It needs to be watered about once every 2 or 3 days. The specific watering frequency should refer to the looseness of the potting soil. The frequency of watering can be appropriately increased for green radish with high soil looseness. Flower lovers who have time should spray water on the leaves of the green radish more often.

4. Climb the wall

The green ivy will not climb all over a wall or grow into a waterfall by itself. To grow it to the same effect as the masters, it requires some careful thought.

For example, place the green ivy in a high place so that its hanging branches and leaves will have a waterfall effect; place the green ivy on doors and windows to make it easy to grow door curtains and window curtains; use small hooks or cloth strips to fix the green ivy to the wall to grow a green ivy wall.

Although these ideas are simple, if you put in some effort, your green ivy will be much more beautiful.

1. Fertilization

The spider plant in my master's house keeps producing small babies, and the leaves can grow to two fingers wide. The secret is actually very simple: fertilizer.

(1) Agricultural fertilizer

The fertilizer that farmers use to grow corn, wheat, and rice is actually a great tool for growing flowers. This fertilizer is not only cheap but also very effective. Common agricultural fertilizers that can be used for growing flowers are urea and diamine. Both fertilizers are soluble in water. When using, you can throw a few grains of agricultural fertilizer into the water, wait for the fertilizer to melt, shake it evenly, and then water the flowers.

If solid fertilizer is used directly, it is recommended to use diamine, which releases fertilizer effect more slowly than urea and is not easy to burn roots. Dig a small hole two or three centimeters deep on the edge of the soil in the spider plant pot, throw a few grains of fertilizer in, cover it, and then water it. The fertilizer will be released with the water.

However, the frequency of use should not be too high, because agricultural fertilizers are very fertile and can basically last for two or three months after one use.

(2) Cake fertilizer and chicken manure fertilizer

Cake fertilizer and chicken manure fertilizer are common organic fertilizers. Huahua has fermented chicken manure fertilizer herself, and the smell... is hard to describe. Flower lovers who mind it can buy it on Taobao. Mature chicken manure fertilizer has basically no smell.

Cake fertilizer is a fertilizer made from the residue left after pressing oil from peanuts, sesame seeds, soybeans, etc. It has a relatively light taste. Grind sesame cakes, soybean cakes, etc., put them in a plastic bottle or plastic bucket, add water and stir evenly, seal it and place it in the sun. It can be successfully made in about two or three months. The composted cake fertilizer has almost no smell.

The frequency of fertilization is about once a month. When using it, you can dig a hole on the surface of the soil in the spider plant pot, put some fertilizer in and bury it. You can also soak chicken manure fertilizer and cake fertilizer in water, then take the clear liquid on the top, dilute it with water at a ratio of 1:2000, and then water the flowers.

2. Location

Chlorophytum's requirements for light and ventilation are very similar to those of Chlorophytum comosum. If flower lovers have both types of flowers planted at home, they can put them together in a bright place indoors. It is best to place the spider plant on a high rack so that it will look much more beautiful when it hangs down and grows runners.

3. Watering

In summer, it is best to water the spider plant every 2 or 3 days to ensure that the soil in the pot is loose and breathable.

4. Shaving

If the spider plant is always sick and wilted and refuses to grow well, it is better to be ruthless and cut off all the withered and yellow parts to reduce the consumption of nutrients by the diseased and damaged leaves and concentrate the nutrients of the spider plant to grow new leaves. As long as the roots are healthy, the leaves that grow back from the spider plant will be green and full of vitality.
