How to care for the newly bought pearl spider plant

How to care for the newly bought pearl spider plant

1. Soil

The soil for growing it only needs to be loose and breathable. There are not too many requirements on the nutritional level of the soil. As long as the soil is not compacted, it can be used. However, it is better to use nutrient soil, or add some leaf mold or a little fertilizer to the planting soil to increase soil fertility. It is best not to rush to repot the plant when you just buy it. Wait until it starts to grow before repotting it.

2. Environment

It does not like growing in an environment with strong light, so it should be placed in a place with certain light, such as the living room or bedroom. If you cannot avoid the scorching sun in summer, you must provide shade and avoid direct exposure to the sun. It likes a warm living environment, so the temperature in the home should be kept constant and the temperature difference should not be too large. Take good insulation measures in winter.

3. Watering

It does not require a lot of water and only needs to be watered once every 2-3 days. Make sure there is no water accumulation, especially when you have just bought the plant. Pay attention to the amount of water in the pot to prevent root rot. The surrounding environment should not be too humid. It is best to maintain it in a drier environment.

4. Fertilization

If you want it to develop better during the growth period, you can use diluted liquid fertilizer once every half a month. Or you can use some soaked soybean water for watering every week, or you can use fermented rice water, which are all good choices.

5. Ventilation

When caring for it, you must place it in a ventilated environment. If the ventilation is poor, it may be infected with bacteria or its own leaves may rot. If there are damaged vines, deal with them immediately, cut off the rotten parts, and sterilize or disinfect them.
