Why does gardenia not bloom?

Why does gardenia not bloom?

1. Unreasonable lighting

Reason: Gardenia needs suitable lighting conditions to bloom, and it needs to grow in a semi-shaded environment on a daily basis. If the sunlight is too strong in summer or insufficient in winter, it will cause it to not bloom.

Solution: Provide adequate sunlight and timely supplement it in winter to promote nutrient synthesis so that the flowers can bloom. In summer, be careful to avoid strong light and grow it in a diffuse light environment.

2. Unsuitable temperature

Reason: Unsuitable temperature is also one of the reasons. If the temperature is below 5 degrees, the plant will go dormant and the flowers will naturally not bloom. If the temperature exceeds 12 degrees in spring, it will cause it to sprout prematurely, which is not conducive to flowering.

Solution: Ensure appropriate temperature and control it within a stable range.

3. Unsuitable loam

Reason: Unsuitable soil for growth will also have an impact. If the soil is alkaline, the plant will not be able to grow normally, resulting in no flowering or less flowering.

Solution: Replace the loam inside and keep it acidic.

4. Improper fertilization

Reason: Flowering requires sufficient nutrient supply and a variety of nutrients. If too much nitrogen fertilizer is applied and too little potassium fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer are applied, it will lead to less flowering or the flower buds will fall off easily.

Solution: Apply nutrients according to growth to ensure the balance of various elements.
