What to do if the leaves of the money tree turn yellow and black

Burns

When growing money trees, the leaves may turn black in the summer, which may be due to burns.

The light in summer is strong and the temperature is very high. If you are not careful, the money tree will be burned and its leaves will turn black. This situation also occurs after a summer rain, or when the money tree that has been kept indoors for a long time is moved outdoors. This will cause the money tree to be suddenly exposed to strong light and suffer sunburn. At first, the leaves will lose their green color and become necrotic, and later they will turn dark brown.

In summer, you must pay attention to light and temperature, provide shade in time, and take cooling measures such as spraying water.

Frost damage

In winter, the leaves of the money tree will turn black, which is mostly due to frost damage.

Generally in winter, the temperature is low, and if the money tree is watered too much or is exposed to cold winds, it will suffer from frost damage, causing its leaves to turn black, and in severe cases, they may rot.

When growing money trees in winter, you should maintain a relatively high temperature and place them in a warm place indoors where they can be exposed to sunlight. Be careful not to water them too much. It is best to keep the soil dry in winter.

Brown spot

In addition to the above two problems caused by improper maintenance, the leaves of the money tree may turn black due to brown spot disease.

Brown spot disease is a relatively harmful disease that mainly harms leaves. It is prone to occur when the temperature is high, the humidity is high and the ventilation is poor. When brown spot disease occurs on money tree, the diseased leaves need to be removed in time and then sprayed with carbendazim for disinfection and sterilization.
