Pest and disease control of ash trees

Pest and disease control of ash trees

Gummosis

This disease mainly occurs in the main body of the plants, mainly in early spring, especially after watering them for regreening. The phenomenon will be more obvious. At first, the affected area may only be slightly swollen and the surface may be moist. Later, the affected area may gradually crack and ooze out a gelatinous liquid. But how did it happen? Generally, they become sick when they suffer frost damage or are burned by light, but they may also be injured by pests.

The way to prevent and control this disease naturally has to start from its cause. First of all, you can add a little fertilizer and loosen the soil appropriately. When the amount of water is relatively large, try to drain it in time to prevent flooding. Once the disease is found, appropriate doses of carbendazim and insecticide can be applied to the tree trunk.

Narrow beetle

This insect is widely distributed and extremely harmful. In northern regions, a new generation of pests is produced every year, and their larvae overwinter in the bark. By April, the narrow beetles that have safely spent the winter will begin to move. By June, it will immediately enter the tree and cause damage to both the phloem and sapwood.

If the pests have already been rampant when they are discovered, it is recommended to immediately use a mixture of a certain dose of trichlorfon and a certain dose of cypermethrin emulsifiable concentrate. However, if the disease is discovered in June, phosphamide and dichlorvos can be directly applied to the affected areas. If you start prevention and control as early as May, you can choose a certain dose of quicklime, sulfur and water, mix them, and apply them to the areas where insects may breed.

Well, don’t worry now, no matter how serious the disease is, as long as it is treated in time, it can be kept safe.
