What to do if the roots rot

What to do if the roots rot

1. Scientific watering

Reason: Excessive watering will cause the soil to be too moist. Overly wet loam can easily accumulate water, causing root rot and yellow leaves.

Solution: Control the frequency of watering and reduce the amount of watering. Wait until the soil in the pot becomes dry before watering. Do not water unless the soil is dry. This will prevent root rot and is more conducive to its growth. When the plant takes root and the roots rot, you should dig it out of the potting soil in time, cut off the rotten roots with scissors, then disinfect the roots, and replant it after the wounds are dried.

2. Adjust the temperature

Reason: Floating plants are not cold-resistant. If the temperature is low in winter, they will be frozen and cause root rot, and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Adjust the temperature appropriately. Let it bask in the sun during the day in winter. If the daytime temperature can ensure that it will not be frostbitten, also reduce the amount of watering in winter. If the amount of watering does not change, its roots will also rot.

3. Prevention and control of pests and diseases

Reason: Once pests and diseases occur, they will harm the leaves and roots that have taken root. The infected leaves will turn yellow and the roots will rot.

Solution: First observe what kind of pest or disease it is, then spray it with appropriate pesticides for prevention and control. If it is caused by bacteria, antibiotics can be used to treat it.
