Causes and treatments of yellow cucumber leaves

Causes and treatments of yellow cucumber leaves

1. Too much watering

1. Reason: Cucumber is a water-loving plant, but too much watering will cause water accumulation, which is a taboo in plant cultivation. It will weaken the respiration of its roots and affect photosynthesis, leading to problems such as yellowing leaves of cucumbers.

2. Treatment method: Stop daily watering immediately, loosen the soil and ventilate it, let the water dry, and the condition will improve after a period of time. If the problem is particularly serious, you can dig out some of the soil without damaging the roots and add some dry soil. Repeat this several times to speed up the drying of the soil.

2. Pests and diseases

1. Cause: When cucumbers are infected with diseases and pests, most problems occur on the leaves at the growing point of the cucumber, causing yellow-green mottled leaves and then causing the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: If pests and diseases have occurred, immediately cut off the infected leaves and spray pesticides on other leaves for treatment. Therefore, you can use fungicides to spray on the leaves on a daily basis. Prevention is better than cure, so keep pests and diseases away from it completely.

3. Excessive fertilization

1. Reason: Cucumber is a plant that likes fertilizer very much, but long-term excessive fertilization, especially too much fertilizer applied at one time, can easily burn the roots. This prevents it from absorbing nutrients, leading to yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: First irrigate the soil with large amounts of water to wash away the accumulated fertilizer. After that, stop fertilizing for a while and wait for it to recover.
