What to do if the leaves of the fortune tree turn yellow and have spots

What to do if the leaves of the fortune tree turn yellow and have spots

1. Rehydrate in time

Reason: The money tree has different water requirements in different seasons. Over- or under-watering can cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Water the money tree frequently. Especially in summer, water the plants twice a day to avoid water loss caused by high temperatures. In spring and autumn, you can water it 1-2 times a week to prevent the soil from drying out. Winter dormancy does not require much water, 2-3 times a month is enough.

2. Proper shade

Reason: Strong light causes the money tree to be burned, and high temperature also causes the leaves to lose water, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: When the sunlight is too strong, you can shade the money tree to avoid sunburn. Usually, you should spray water on the leaves to replenish water and increase the humidity.

3. Dilute Fertilizer

Reason: Generally, the amount of topdressing is not controlled properly, resulting in the fertilizer being too concentrated, causing burns to the roots, and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Root burn is an inevitable problem for novice flower growers. Once excessive fertilizer is applied, it must be diluted with water in time. If the roots rot after a long time, you need to remove the plant and trim the roots. Replant with new soil and let the roots continue to rot.

4. Disease prevention and control

Cause: Leaf spot and leaf blight are both common diseases that cause spots on leaves.

Solution: The diseased leaves that have turned yellow and withered should be removed promptly, and the diseased branches should also be cut off. Improve ventilation and light transmission to avoid the spread of germs remaining in the air. Spraying carbendazim on the diseased areas can also have a therapeutic effect on branches and leaves with less severe conditions. At the same time, attention should be paid to water and fertilizer management to improve the resistance of the plants.
