What is the reason for the yellow leaves of Kalanchoe?

What is the reason for the yellow leaves of Kalanchoe?

1. Metabolism

Reason: When the Kalanchoe grows and develops normally, its bottom leaves will turn yellow, which generally will not affect the top leaves. This is a normal growth phenomenon.

Solution: If you want to make the plant more beautiful, you can trim the yellow leaves with scissors, or you can just ignore it and wait for it to fall off naturally.

2. Too much watering

Cause: During maintenance, if the leaves become soft and gradually turn yellow, it is because too much water is given. If there is excess water in the potting soil, yellow leaves will appear.

Solution: Simply loosen the soil and move it to a sunny place for maintenance. Usually after a few days of sun exposure, the edges of the leaves will become dry. Cut off the dry parts for a period of time and the leaves will return to normal after growing.

3. Strong sunlight

Reason: Although Kalanchoe likes sunlight, long-term exposure to the sun will burn its leaves, causing them to turn yellow and dry.

Solution: Place it where there is no direct sunlight, water it more, and cut off the leaves with sterilized scissors.

4. No nutrients

Reason: If no fertilizer is applied for a long time during maintenance, there will not be enough nutrients for it to grow. The leaves cannot absorb nutrients and will gradually turn yellow and wilt.

Solution: Replenish it with nutrients regularly. You can use nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer, but stop fertilizing in summer. When applying fertilizer, do not splash it onto the leaves as this may cause rot.
