1. Planting Season

The best time to plant yacon is spring. If it is direct seeding, it should not be later than April at the latest. If the soil is covered with plastic film for sowing, the best time is late March. Of course, the planting time varies according to the specific situation. For example, if conditions permit, you can choose to build an arch shed, so the planting time can be advanced.

2. Planting and seedling raising methods

1. Seed selection and disinfection: Before planting, select high-quality seed potatoes. There should be no spots on them, let alone mold. It is best to have 1-2 buds, and each piece should be about 30-50g. When cutting, be careful not to damage the eye of the plant, and the cut surface should be smooth. Then use carbendazim or potassium permanganate to disinfect it.

2. Planting and transplanting: When planting, spread the processed seed potatoes in the soil, then cover them with a layer of finer soil or river sand, and then cover them with straw to keep them moist. When the seedlings grow to 13-15cm, they can be transplanted. After completing the transplanting work, you also need to water it to help it take root. When transplanting, be careful not to make the depth too shallow, about 5-6cm is enough.
