How to grow leeks in pots

How to grow leeks in pots

1. Fertile Soil

Most of the nutrients for potted leeks come from the soil, so you should choose fertile soil for planting. If you choose poor soil, it will easily grow poorly and the plants will not be able to grow strong. Not only do you need to choose the right soil, but you also need to add a certain amount of base fertilizer to increase nutrition and ensure good growth needs.

2. Planting density

Space can affect growth. If the plants are planted in pots, the space is relatively small and nutrients are difficult to distribute. If the plants are planted densely and there are many of them, the nutrients will naturally not be enough. When transplanting, you can plant them sparsely, with five or six trees in a cluster, and keep a certain distance between them to ensure that nutrients can be distributed and supplied.

3. Timely topdressing

In order to grow the leek thicker, in addition to applying base fertilizer, it is also necessary to apply top dressing in time during the growth process. If there is a lack of nutrients, the whole leek will become thinner and the leaves will turn yellow. It can be supplemented by applying foliar fertilizer, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, but other elements must also be reasonably balanced, and special foliar fertilizer can be used.

4. Temperature control

Temperature is also critical. We must ensure a good temperature and maintain it between 12-30℃. This range is most conducive to growth and can also make it become strong.
