How to grow Monstera into an old pile

How to grow Monstera into an old pile

1. Cut off the rhizomes

For Monstera, if you want to grow it into an old stump, you need the help of rhizomes. If you have a plant with yellow leaves or root problems at home, you don't have to throw it away. You can cut off the rhizomes and cultivate it into an old stump. The same goes for healthy plants. Cut the rhizomes from the lower position. Don't rush to plant them. Disinfect them first. Mix the carbendazim into a solution and soak the rhizomes in it. Take them out after about half an hour and place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry.

2. Prepare the potting soil

For flower pots, it is best to choose breathable ones, and the material can be clay pots. The preparation of loam needs to be based on the growth habits of Monstera. It can be mixed with peat soil, river sand, perlite, and leaf mold in proportion. If conditions permit at home, you can put expanded clay or bark on the bottom to increase the drainage effect.

3. Cultivation and Planting

Place the cut rhizome on the loam, bury the side with aerial roots in the soil, and expose the cross sections of the rhizome on both sides to the air. Pay attention to the maintenance methods and place it in a cool and ventilated place. The aerial roots will gradually grow and take root, and then new shoots will grow. In about 30 days, the rhizome will grow into an old stump.
