Is the chestnut yield high?

The yield of chestnuts is relatively high. An adult chestnut tree can produce about 13 kilograms of chestnuts a year. The yield per mu can reach 500-600 kilograms during the peak fruit-bearing period. There are many varieties of chestnuts, such as Luotian chestnut and Qianxi chestnut, which have very high yields.

How to grow chestnuts for high yield

1. Selection of chestnut garden

If you want to increase the yield of chestnuts, you need to choose steps of similar height for planting. The width of the step should be about 3 meters, and a drainage ditch should be opened on the inside, and then holes should be dug for planting.

2. Expand the acupoints

When transplanting chestnut trees, larger planting holes need to be dug, otherwise the roots will be restricted and unable to expand far away, which will significantly slow down the growth of the trees.

3. Seedling stage management

When planting chestnuts, you should pay attention to the spring drought in the north, and replenish water in time, and irrigate along the ditch. After about a month after the seedlings emerge, you should apply topdressing and pay attention to prevent the soil temperature from being too high.

4. Cultivation of chestnut

Before planting, apply enough base fertilizer in front of the planting hole, then place the chestnut seedlings in it, fill the topsoil back and gently lift the chestnut seedlings to allow the roots to fully contact the soil, and finally water them to help them take root. After watering in early spring, cover the ground with plastic film, which will help increase yields.
