Can Schefflera be propagated by cuttings in summer?

Can Schefflera be propagated by cuttings in summer?

1. Is it possible to take cuttings?

Schefflera can be propagated by cuttings in the summer, but the midsummer period should be avoided and it can be done in early summer. Cuttings cannot be taken when the temperature is too high, as this will affect the chances of survival. The most suitable temperature for cuttings is around 15-25℃. It is recommended that you do cuttings in spring or autumn, as the branches are more likely to survive.

However, each flower lover lives in a different region, and the most suitable time for cuttings also varies. Those living in the south can do it around April, while those living in the north can do it a little later.

2. Cutting method

1. Prepare branches: Cut relatively strong branches about 10-15cm from plants with good growth conditions. Check it before use to make sure there is no damage or insect eggs on it.

2. Disinfect the soil: prepare a flower pot of suitable size and place a layer of small stones at the bottom. Sterilize the soil to be used and put it into the flowerpot for later use.

3. Processing branches: Remove all the leaves at the bottom of the branches and keep 2-3 leaves at the top. You can disinfect it first, then soak it in a rooting water solution for a while after drying.

4. Carry out cuttings: Carefully insert the processed branches into the soil to a depth of about 3-5cm, and fix the branches with soil.
