How to care for carnations in summer

1. Cooling

After entering summer, the temperature will gradually rise and the growth rate of carnations will become very slow. The highest temperature should not exceed 35 degrees Celsius. If it exceeds the highest temperature, reasonable cooling measures should be taken. If you keep them indoors, you can cool them down by opening windows or turning on air conditioning.

2. Shade

It will enter a semi-dormant or dormant state in the summer, so it must not be exposed to the sun, especially when grown outdoors, and more attention should be paid to shade. You can put up a shade net for it, or place it in a cool place for maintenance.

3. Watering

The plants are not growing well at this time and do not need much water, so you can reduce the frequency of watering. It is recommended to water them every 3-5 days. Not only should you water the plants appropriately, you should also spray them with some water every day to keep the humidity in the air high enough.

4. Pests and diseases

Most flower lovers will ignore this point because it is easy to be attacked by red spider mites due to the maintenance environment. Therefore, prevention and control measures should be taken in the summer. When pests appear, the infested parts should be removed as soon as possible and sprayed with appropriate drugs.
