Cultivation methods and precautions of daffodils

Cultivation methods and precautions of daffodils

1. Watering

Pay attention to the amount of water when caring for the plant. Too much water can easily cause waterlogging and root rot. The amount of watering can be determined according to the season. Keep it moist in spring and autumn, or wait until the soil is dry before adding water. Water is lost quickly in summer, so you need to replenish water frequently and water the plants every day. The temperature is low in winter, so you need to control the water and only water it once every five days.

2. Temperature

Daffodils are cold-resistant, so there is no need to worry about the low temperatures in winter. On the contrary, a slightly cold environment can promote their growth. However, it is afraid of high temperatures, so in summer you should pay attention to cooling it down and sprinkle more water and ventilation. Normally, the temperature between 10-15 degrees is most suitable for its growth.

3. Lighting

It likes light, but cannot tolerate strong light. Therefore, when maintaining it, it should be placed in a place with scattered light. Sufficient light is more conducive to growth and development. But when the sunlight is strong in summer, you should avoid it in time to avoid sunburn.

4. Fertilization

During maintenance, you should apply fertilizer frequently and add an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer to the soil in the early stage of growth, which can effectively promote growth. During the flowering period, the amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be increased to promote flowering and prolong the flowering period. When applying fertilizer, use less nitrogen fertilizer to avoid excessive growth.

5. Notes

Daffodils have poor tolerance to high temperatures, so be careful in the summer. During maintenance and management, it is best to place a basin of clean water next to the plant, or sprinkle water around it more often to cool it down and increase the humidity, which will help it survive the hot summer.
