How to propagate Chlorophytum comosum (cuttings are the easiest)

1. Cutting method

This method is simple to operate and is also easier to achieve.

1. Prepare the soil: Before grafting, you need to prepare soil that is conducive to rooting. The soil should be loose enough, contain humus, and have good air permeability and drainage. Peat soil, perlite and vermiculite can be mixed together.

2. Cuttings: Select a branch with good growth condition from the mother plant and cut it off 10cm with scissors. All leaves at the bottom of the branches need to be removed, leaving 3-4 leaves at the top. The base is cut obliquely to help it contact the soil.

3. Cutting: Insert the processed branches upright into the soil. Don't insert them too deep, 3-4cm is enough. After cuttings, you need to water it to maintain a moist environment. Once white eyes appear on the cuttings, it means they have survived.

2. Division method

This method is not commonly used in home breeding, and the operation is slightly more complicated than the cutting method.

1. Remove from the pot: When you want to divide the plant, you need to stop watering first and keep the soil slightly dry. Tap the pot gently to separate the plant from the pot and carefully remove it from the pot.

2. Division: The old soil above the roots should be removed first, and then use scissors to divide it into several plants, each of which should have roots. After dividing, soak them in carbendazim, let the wounds dry and then put them back in the pot.
