What kind of water should be used to water camellia for more blooms

Camellia is delicate and gorgeous, with bright colors, large and beautiful flowers, and as elegant and luxurious as peony, so it is very popular among flower lovers.

However, camellia is a southern flower and it is not easy to grow it in the north. However, if we water it with these types of water, it is not difficult to grow it well.

Now I will talk about these types of water and see if you have used them before or are currently using them.

1. Pouring well water:

Well water is what we call soft water. Soft water contains more microorganisms and a slightly acidic pH value, which is more in line with the absorption characteristics of camellia roots. Well water contains a variety of trace mineral elements that can promote the growth of camellia.

Watering camellia with well water can extend the service life of the soil and prolong the soil hardening time. The branches of camellia watered with well water are firmer, with fewer yellow leaves and more colorful flowers.

Second, pour the rice water:

Rice washing water contains starch and some sugar, which can be turned into fertilizer for camellia after fermentation. It also contains "nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium" and xylose and glucose that are easily absorbed by plants.

Collect the rice water and put it in a corner. It can be used in about a month. When watering, add tap water at a ratio of 1:3 to promote the growth of camellia and avoid the shortcomings of watering with tap water.

Third, pour "ferrous sulfate":

Through communication with the agronomist of the flower garden, I learned that plants with brightly colored flowers absorb and digest nutrients best when the soil pH is kept at around 6.0.

At the same time, if you supplement iron ions appropriately when the plants are blooming, the flowers will be relatively thicker and the color will be darker.

Water the camellia once a month with 800 times ferrous sulfate solution to balance the soil pH, replenish iron ions, and prevent chlorosis.

Fourth, pour potassium dihydrogen phosphate:

Flower lovers must be familiar with potassium dihydrogen phosphate. Spraying or watering potassium dihydrogen phosphate on flowers can promote flowering and prolong the flowering period.

We recommend using spray to supplement foliar fertilizer. Dilute potassium dihydrogen phosphate 1200 times with water and spray the leaves three times in a row, with an interval of 8 days between each spray.

Fifth, rain and snow

The best way to water camellia is with rainwater and snowwater, because both rainwater and snowwater are slightly acidic, which is conducive to the growth of camellia.

For places in the north where it doesn't rain much, we can prepare a few large buckets with lids in the summer and collect more rainwater to water camellia. In this way, the few buckets of water prepared are basically enough to grow one or two pots of camellia.

If we prepare less, then when it snows in winter, we can collect some snow and put it in a bucket. After it melts into water, when the temperature is similar to the indoor temperature, we can use it to water the camellia.

The biggest advantage of using rainwater and snow water to water camellia is that the soil will not become hardened and will always be loose and breathable, which is conducive to the growth of the camellia roots. As a result, the camellia will grow more vigorously and the flowers will be more numerous and brighter .
