What fertilizer is good for growing potatoes? What fertilizer is good for growing potatoes?

Potatoes, also known as potatoes, are high-starch tuberous plants. Reasonable fertilization is very important in the entire planting process. The fertilization technology should follow the principle of mainly using farmyard manure, supplemented by chemical fertilizers, mainly using base fertilizer, and appropriate topdressing to make potatoes grow better.

What fertilizer can produce high yields for potatoes?

1. Farmyard manure + nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers

The fertilizers used for growing potatoes are mainly farmyard manure, phosphorus-potassium fertilizers, and nitrogen fertilizers. Before planting potatoes, organic fertilizers should be applied to increase the organic matter content of the soil. During the germination period, the amount of potassium fertilizer required is twice that of nitrogen fertilizer. At the same time, medium and trace element fertilizers such as calcium and magnesium are also needed.

2. Decomposed organic fertilizer

In the process of potato growth, well-rotted organic fertilizer is also indispensable. Potatoes are fertilizer-tolerant crops and are very sensitive to elements such as potassium and sulfur. Therefore, in order to ensure high potato yields, sufficient well-rotted organic fertilizer is essential when applying base fertilizer.

Potato fertilization method

When fertilizing potato plants, the fertilizer should be applied 2-3 cm away from the potatoes to avoid direct contact with the seed potatoes. After fertilizing, cover the soil. Potato planting requires timely and reasonable topdressing in accordance with different growth periods.

During the seedling stage, topdressing can be combined with tillage and soil cultivation. 5-8 kg of urea can be diluted with water and applied per mu to help protect the seedlings. After the potatoes bloom, 50 kg of 0.3-0.5% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution can be sprayed on each mu of leaves to ensure their healthy growth.
