Is Kalanchoe a perennial plant? Why does white frost grow on the leaves and then dry up?

1. Is it a perennial plant?

Kalanchoe is a perennial plant and a succulent herb. It is also known as Christmas Kalanchoe, Kalanchoe kalanchoe, and is a very common ornamental flower. Its plant is not only very beautiful with emerald green leaves, but also has richer colors when it blooms, and the flowers look very beautiful when clustered together.

2. Growth habits

1. Drought resistance: Kalanchoe has good drought resistance. Because the plant itself contains abundant water, it is also a plant that is very afraid of waterlogging. During the maintenance period, do not let there be too much water in the pot, otherwise it will cause the roots of the plant to rot and die.

2. Light-loving: It is a plant that likes sunlight and cannot be grown in an overly shady environment, as this will easily cause the plant to drop leaves and wither. In summer, you need to provide some shade because the sunlight is too strong and it is easy to get sunburned.

3. Not cold-resistant: This is a plant that cannot tolerate cold. The maintenance temperature should be between 15-25℃, and the highest temperature should not be higher than 30℃. Special attention should be paid in winter, and the temperature should be kept at 12-15℃. If the temperature is too low, it will affect its flowering.

3. Why do leaves become white and dry?

The leaves of Kalanchoe may grow white frost and dry out, which is mostly caused by powdery mildew. During the maintenance period, factors such as high temperature, lack of light, and poor ventilation may cause diseases. When the plants show adverse symptoms, they need to be sprayed as soon as possible, using 65% mancozeb wettable powder at 600 times the concentration.
