The difference between the ghost poppy and the poppy

1. Difference of blades

The basal leaves of the ghost poppy are ovate to lanceolate, deeply pinnately divided, with small lobes that are lanceolate or oblong, serrated, green on both sides, and hairy. There are more stem leaves, which are alternate and similar in shape to the basal leaves but smaller.

The leaves of poppy are alternate, narrowly ovate or lanceolate in outline, pinnate-shaped, and completely divided at the bottom. All lobes are lanceolate and bipinnately lobed, and the lobes are lanceolate.

2. The difference between flowers

The ghost poppy flower is solitary, with broad ovate or ovate buds, 4-6 petals, broadly obovate or fan-shaped, red or dark red in color, with short claws at the base, and sometimes with purple-blue spots. The flowering period is from June to July every year.

The poppy flower also grows solitary at the top of the branch or on the stem. The buds are oblong-obovate. There are four petals in total, which are round in shape, purple-red in color, and have dark purple spots at the base. The flowering period is from March to August.
