The difference between hydrangea and pompom

Differences in plant appearance and flower bulbs

Hydrangea: The plant height is between 1 meter and 4 meters, the diameter of the flower ball is between 8 centimeters and 20 centimeters, the pedicels are short, the flowers are dense, and the petals are long and round, about 3 mm to 3.5 mm in length. Its flower ball is surrounded by green leaves, which are particularly compact and lush. The leaves are between 6 cm and 15 cm long and between 4 cm and 11.5 cm wide.

Big pom pom: The plant height is between 1.3 meters and 1.5 meters, and the diameter of the flower ball is almost always around 18 centimeters, but its pedicel is very high, about 1.2 meters. It can be said that the height of the entire plant is supported by this pedicel, and the top of the pedicel is the flower ball. The flowers are also very dense, with each petal about 1 cm in diameter. The leaves are similar to corn leaves, with the tail drooping downward, but the leaves are longer, about 60 cm in diameter and about 10 cm in width.

The difference in flowering period

The flowering period of hydrangea is from June to August, while the flowering period of pompom is earlier, from May to June. Just when the pompom is about to end, hydrangea begins to bloom.

The difference in color

Hydrangea has a variety of gorgeous colors, but the large pompoms we usually see are only purple-red. But in fact, it also has different colors. Among them, hydrangea has a blue and white flower ball, which has more colors than the large pompoms.

Both plants are suitable for planting and viewing at home.
