What to do if the roots of the green radish are rotten

What to do if the roots of the green radish are rotten

1. Cut off rotten roots

Carefully remove the pothos from the pot, remove the soil around the roots, and check for rot. If the rot is too serious, it is recommended to burn the diseased plants in time to avoid causing diseases and pests to spread to other plants. If the rot is not serious, you can cut off the rotten roots and wash them with water.

2. Soaking and disinfection

After cutting off the rotten roots, in order to prevent the wounds of the green radish from causing infection and leading to disease, it is necessary to soak it in potassium permanganate solution for disinfection. Potassium permanganate needs to be fully diluted to avoid damaging the roots due to excessive concentration. Generally, it can be diluted with water until it turns pink. Soak for 10 minutes, then rinse again with clean water.

3. New pot and new soil

There are many reasons for root rot, but basically they are caused indirectly by the soil, so it is necessary to change the pot and soil. Both the flower pots and the soil need to be disinfected before use, and you can choose a soft, nutrient-rich acidic soil.

4. Shade and heat preservation

After transplanting, the green radish needs to be maintained for a period of time. During this period, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight, and the temperature should be kept above 20 degrees Celsius so that it can grow normally. After it grows new roots, it can be planted in the sun.

5. Appropriate water and fertilizer

It is not advisable to water or fertilize the green radish immediately after transplanting. You can water it after the soil is dry. In addition, do not fertilize and water at the same time. Fertilize when the soil is slightly dry to avoid damage to the new roots.
