What to do if jasmine leaves turn yellow

What to do if jasmine leaves turn yellow

Improper watering

Too much or too little watering can cause the leaves of jasmine to turn yellow. When you water too much, the young leaves will lose their luster, the old leaves will not change much, and the new branches will gradually shrink and stop growing. When you water too little, the old leaves will gradually fall from top to bottom, but the new leaves will grow normally and the nutrient supply will be insufficient. When encountering the above phenomena, you should pay attention to the appropriate amount of watering to ensure that the soil in the pot is moist and no water accumulates.

Improper fertilization

Fertilizing jasmine is also very important. Too much fertilizer will cause the new leaves to turn brown, and the old leaves will gradually turn yellow and wither; too little fertilizer will cause the roots of the plant to become a ball, and nutrients cannot be absorbed, causing the leaves to turn yellow. If you encounter the above situation, you should repot the jasmine in time, apply fertilizer frequently and thinly to ensure the normal nutrient supply of the plant.

Soil causes

Soil is also an important factor that causes leaves to turn yellow. Jasmine should grow in acidic soil. If the soil is weakly alkaline, the leaves will turn from yellow to green or even fall off. Acidic nutrient soil should be used for maintenance.

Light and temperature reasons

Jasmine is a flower that likes light and a warm environment, so it should be placed in a place with sufficient scattered sunlight for maintenance. In the hot summer, it should not be exposed directly to the sun. Pay attention to indoor zoning and cooling. The potting soil should not be too dry or moist, otherwise it will easily cause the leaves of the potted plants to turn yellow and wither.

Winter yellow leaves

Improper care in winter can also cause jasmine leaves to turn yellow. Jasmine should be placed indoors for care in winter. Note that the indoor temperature must not be lower than 3°C, and it is best to keep it at around 10-15°C. The leaves will rarely turn yellow and wither.
