Scallions have strong adaptability and are mainly affected by temperature, moisture, light, climate, soil, fertilizer and other aspects. Its growing period is about 90 days. The growing period of different varieties of shallots is different, which is also related to the later maintenance.

After sowing the green onion, the soil must be kept moist until it grows leaves. When the seedlings grow to 15 cm in height, ensure sufficient water. Fertilize once every 10 days in the middle growth period. It takes about 90 days from sowing to flowering. It has strong vitality and can grow again after being cut.

Scallion Growth Cycle Management

Scallions can be sown all year round, but spring and autumn are the best seasons, with a yield of up to 1,500 kilograms per mu in the form of green onion leaves.

Temperature management: The suitable temperature for the germination of shallots is between 13-20℃, the suitable temperature for the growth of its stems and leaves is between 18-23℃, the suitable temperature for the growth of its roots is between 14-18℃, and its growth rate slows down when the temperature is above 28℃.

Fertilization management: The amount of nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer required during the cultivation of shallots is basically equal, so on the basis of increasing the application of organic fertilizer, the application of potassium fertilizer should be increased. In order to promote the normal growth of shallots, trace element foliar fertilizer should also be sprayed on the leaves.
