Orange Growth Introduction

Oranges grow best in places with plenty of sunlight, and preferably in an environment with humid air. The soil for growth must have sufficient fertilizer and water, and can be irrigated during drought and drained during floods.

Orange growth cycle

Oranges usually bear fruit in the third year after planting. They become mature fruit trees after four years. The fruits usually mature in mid-to-late November each year. Its growth cycle is generally one year, and entering a dormant period marks the end of the growth cycle.

Orange growth rate

The growth process of orange can be divided into four parts: the sprouting of new buds, the emergence of flower buds, the falling of flowers and the ripening of fruits. The growth rate of orange is neither very fast nor very slow.

Orange Growth Cycle Management

Oranges usually start to bear fruit three years after planting, and will have a high and stable yield after about four years. They can only be harvested once a year.

Temperature Management

The most suitable temperature for orange growth is usually around 37℃, but when the flower buds differentiate in autumn, the day and night temperatures should be around 20℃ and 10℃. If the temperature is too low, the oranges will freeze.

Fertilization management

Oranges need to be fertilized at least six times a year during the seedling stage, while orange trees in the fruiting stage only need to be fertilized four times a year. Organic compost fertilizers are mainly used, and the method of fertilization is generally ring-shaped trench application, so that the nutrients can play their greatest role.
