The growth environment and local conditions of moss

Moss growth environment and conditions

Moss is a very small plant with a simple structure. It is generally distributed in dark and humid environments. It often grows on stone walls and dark and humid swamps.

Moss growth conditions

Moss needs a moist environment to grow and is particularly intolerant to drought and dryness. A certain amount of light must be provided during maintenance, but it cannot tolerate direct sunlight. It is best to provide scattered light or a semi-shaded environment. Spray water several times a day to maintain the humidity of the environment. The relative humidity of the air should be kept above 80%.

Moss growth temperature

The suitable growth temperature for moss is above 25 degrees and the temperature cannot be lower than 22 degrees. It is a group of small multicellular green plants that mainly grow in shady and humid environments. The largest species is only tens of centimeters. It has a simple structure and is similar to algae.

The growth process of moss

1. If there is stagnant water in the pond in autumn and winter and it is not drained in spring and not cleaned and disinfected in time, the spores of moss will cover the bottom of the pond and begin to germinate when the temperature is right.

2. When stocking the seedlings in April and May, the fertilizer and water were not properly applied, resulting in the water being too clear. The sunlight directly shines on the bottom of the pond, and the moss spores are exposed to the sunlight, which accelerates their growth.

Moss planting time and method

1. Choose the right moss: First, you need to find moss in a place similar to the maintenance environment. After drying, cut it into 3-4 mm in size, then plant it on the soil, and put it in a breathable container for later use. You can find moss under nearby electric poles and on the side of the road. Due to the similar environment, it will grow slightly faster.

2. Maintenance: When caring for moss, pay attention to watering and weeding. When first planting moss, do not damage the soil surface when watering. You can spray water frequently or put the pot in water and let the water enter the pot from the hole at the bottom of the pot. After the moss grows, do not use water to directly impact the moss. In addition, weeds should be removed anytime and anywhere.
