This flower is like a small medicine box on the balcony. It will bloom out of the pot with just a little water. Everyone can grow it!

If you grow mint like this in summer, the pot will be full in 10 days!

1. Adequate lighting

Only by giving mint sufficient light can it bloom as quickly as possible. Flower lovers who have a south balcony or south windowsill at home can place the mint on the south balcony or terrace with good light. If you have a yard at home, just throw it directly into the yard!

2. Sufficient water

If you give mint enough sunlight every day, you must keep up with the water. In the hot summer, it is enough to water the plants thoroughly once a day, or once in the morning and once in the evening. When you have nothing to do, you can also take a small spray bottle and spray water directly on the mint leaves to ensure that the mint grows more vigorously!

3. Add fertilizer occasionally

Many people think that the mint in their home is not growing very fast, so it would be better to add some fertilizer to it, such as compound fertilizer or slow-release fertilizer granules at home, mixed with water and directly watered the mint, or buried on the edge of the flowerpot, away from the root system, so that the mint can grow rapidly as soon as possible!

4. Pinching and pinching

Poor lighting at home or other factors can easily cause mint to grow too tall. If you find that the mint in your home is growing too tall, you should quickly pinch off the top and try to keep the height no more than 15cm. Side branches will soon grow and the plant will fill the pot in minutes!

Just pick a mint branch and big white roots will sprout in 5 days!

Don’t throw away the mint branches you trimmed off normally. Use them directly for cuttings. After one month, you can harvest a large pot of mint!

1. Find a bottle of water, put the pruned mint branches into the bottle after drying the wounds. Make sure the lower end of the branches is slightly touching the water surface.

2. In the hot summer, it only takes 3-5 days for the mint cuttings to sprout white roots.

3. Wait until the roots of the mint grow longer before preparing to transplant it into the potting soil.

4. Transfer the rooted mint branches to the soil. For the first 3-5 days, it is best to place it in a place with good diffuse light to slow down, and then you can let it be exposed to direct sunlight, and then maintain it with plenty of water and sunlight, and it will soon bloom again!

What should I do if the mint leaves turn yellow or burnt?

The most common problem in the process of growing mint is yellowing and burnt leaves.

1. Yellowing of mint leaf edges: lack of potassium fertilizer

If the mint in your home has spots on its leaves and the edges of the leaves turn yellow and dry, it is basically a potassium deficiency.

Solution:

If this happens to the leaves, we need to spray some 02% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution on the leaves, and they will basically recover quickly.

2. There are black spots on the back of mint leaves: spider mites

If there are large black spots on the back of mint leaves, it is basically infected with spider mites.

Solution:

Prepare 2 spoons of dishwashing liquid + 1 spoon of vegetable oil, add water and mix evenly, spray it directly on the front and back of the mint leaves several times, and the red spider mites can be killed!

How to save dying mint?

The weather is hot in the summer, and if you are not careful, the mint in your home will look like it is dying.

1. If the mint in your home is sunburned or lacks water, causing large areas of leaves to wither, then you have no choice but to shave the mint!

2. Use scissors to cut off all the yellow and withered leaves and branches. Start pruning about 2-3 cm above the soil in the pot, and cut the entire pot of mint bare.

3. As long as the root system of the mint is intact, it basically only takes about 10 days for the mint that has been cut bald to sprout new buds and grow new leaves!

4. If the mint has root rot, you will have to prune the roots and change the pot and soil.

5. Remove the mint from the pot, then cut off all rotten parts of the roots, leaving only healthy roots, and soak them in a solution of carbendazim for 20 minutes to achieve the purpose of sterilization and disinfection.

6. Put the dried healthy roots back into the pot. Place it in a cool and ventilated place for 1-2 weeks to let the roots grow slowly. After the mint grows new leaves, move it to the sun.
