Carnation flowering time

Carnation flowering time

1. Time

Although its flowering time is determined, different varieties will still have different times. Some bloom in one season, while others bloom all year round. The varieties mainly sold in the market now are very common, but their flowering period is relatively long. Generally speaking, cultivated ones will bloom for a year, while natural ones will bloom between April and September.

2. Factors

In fact, the time of flowering is not fixed each time. It is not unchanging. Generally speaking, if the climate changes that year, the flowering period will also change. Among other things, this varies depending on the time of day the sun is shining. It likes a cool, sunny and windy environment. The sunlight conditions can promote the differentiation of both its flowers and buds. This plant has good tolerance to cold and poor tolerance to heat. It grows quite fast when the growth temperature is between 14 and 21 degrees Celsius, but its growth rate is not satisfactory when the growth temperature is above 27 degrees Celsius or below 14 degrees Celsius. If there is more sunlight, the flower buds will appear earlier than normal. However, this has no effect on the differentiation and formation of the corolla. At the same time, the time from the appearance of flower buds to flowering, which has nothing to do with the sun or its variety, usually remains at around 30 days. Therefore, it can be seen that the flowering period of different species has nothing to do with the differentiation of flowers and buds, and the determining factor lies in the initiation of flower buds.

3. Freshness preservation

In fact, we can take certain measures to keep the flowers bright. The first way is to cut them in water. In addition, we can also put a small amount of water in the bottle, but the water needs to be changed frequently. In addition, we can also add some substances, such as boric acid to keep it bright. Of course, the concentration of boric acid cannot be too high, about 2% is feasible.
