How to care for and fertilize peony flowers

base fertilizer:

Before planting peonies, base fertilizer is very important, and you can use manure, cake fertilizer, and compost.

Pre-flowering fertilizer:

Pre-flowering fertilizer is usually applied in early October. The fertilizer applied at this time will have a great impact on the flowering of peony this year. Many experienced flower growers call it "flower-promoting fertilizer." Fertilizer can be mainly decomposed cake fertilizer or phosphorus fertilizer.

Fertilizer after flowering:

Post-flowering fertilizer is usually applied half a month after the peony flowers bloom. Fertilizer applied at this time can increase the number of flowers. It is especially directly related to flowering in the second year, such as the number, color, and size of flowers. Fertilizer can be mainly decomposed cake fertilizer or compound fertilizer.

Winter fertilizer:

Winter fertilizer is applied before winter. It is usually done together with watering. This fertilization can also increase the temperature of the soil, which is of great help to the peony over the winter. Fertilizer is still mainly organic fertilizer.

Note:

Water the plants promptly after each fertilization. The amount of watering should be determined according to the current environment. If the weather is too dry, water at least once a day. No matter how many times you water, there should be no water accumulation.

Peonies like fertilizer, so the amount of fertilizer applied each year should not be less than 3 times. Fertilization can be carried out together with loosening the soil, watering and weeding.

You can also apply top dressing before the peony blooms, which has a good effect on flowering.
