Cultivation methods of flowers in different growth stages

Cultivation methods of flowers in different growth stages

Flower germination care

It is actually quite simple to care for flowers during the germination period. Basically, no unnecessary operations should be performed on them because only young shoots are growing at this time, the root system is shallow and the plants are not vigorous, so basically no fertilizer is required. But be careful to maintain appropriate temperature and light. When watering, just keep the soil moist.

Flower seedling maintenance

The seedling growth period of flowers is actually a rather special stage, and you need to have your own methods for care at this time.

Flowers in the seedling stage are very fragile, their root systems grow poorly, and their branches and leaves need to adapt slowly. If you want to grow flowers at this time, be sure to stop fertilizing, but you can continue watering. And generally it is placed in a cool and ventilated place. It is best not to expose it to the sun for the time being, and then manage it normally after the plant recovers.

Maintenance of flowers during their vigorous growth period

When growing flowers, the plants grow rapidly, which is their peak growth period. At this time, the demand for water and fertilizer is relatively high. Fertilization needs to be done in moderation, but if the temperature is high, you need to be careful when applying fertilizer. Moreover, during the vigorous growth period of the plant, nitrogen fertilizer is generally used for fertilization. However, some flowering and fruiting plants can be appropriately fertilized with some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

Flower care during flowering period

For perennial flowers, because their flowering period is relatively long, they need to be properly topdressed with some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers during the flowering period. For some flowers with a shorter flowering period, you don’t need too much fertilizer during the flowering period, and it is best not to apply fertilizer.

Flower bud care

During the bud stage of flowers, they generally consume a lot of nutrients. If it is a foliage plant, in order to improve its ornamental value, you can pick off the flower buds to avoid nutrient consumption. When watering, usually water when the surface soil is dry.

Flower dormancy maintenance

During the dormant period of flowers, you can stop fertilizing but not watering. Generally, water them when the soil is dry and then wet again, but the frequency of watering should be reduced appropriately.

The plant can be repotted when it is dormant, which will have less impact on its growth. However, it is best not to repot in summer.
