Cultivation methods and precautions of double-line arrowroot

Farming methods

temperature

The double-lined arrowroot prefers a warm environment. The suitable growth temperature is 20℃-30℃. The best growth temperature during the day is 18℃-21℃, and 16℃-18℃ at night. It can safely overwinter at above 10℃.

Therefore, in the summer, you must prevent high temperatures and exposure to the sun, and place the double-line arrowroot in a cool place. In the winter, you must pay attention to cold protection and move the plant indoors.

Watering

The peak growth period of the double-line arrowroot is from March to October, and the air humidity should be maintained at 75%-85%. High air humidity is conducive to leaf expansion, so you should water it more during the growing period and spray the leaves frequently.

The appropriate watering method is to spray the leaves in the morning, water the potting soil in the afternoon, and water the entire plant in the evening.

illumination

The double-line arrowroot cannot tolerate direct sunlight, so shade should be provided in summer. Allow the double-line arrowroot to absorb scattered light.

soil

The two-line arrowroot prefers fertile and loose soil, and does not like compacted soil or waterlogging.

Generally, fertile humus soil and porous coarse media are used as the matrix.

Fertilization

The principle of "small amounts and multiple times" should be followed when fertilizing the double-line arrowroot. During the peak growing season, apply a mixture of peanut bran and compound fertilizer or decomposed compost once every two weeks.

Precautions

Control watering according to the season

Plants require a lot of water in summer, so they should be watered 3-4 times a day.

As the temperature drops in autumn and winter, the growth rate of the double-line arrowroot slows down, and the amount of watering should be reduced to once a day or once every 2-3 days, and the soil should be kept dry as much as possible.

Avoid leaf burn

The sunlight is strong in summer, and the leaves of the double-line arrowroot can easily be burned under direct sunlight, so the plant should be placed in a place without direct sunlight. If the leaves are found to be burned, they should be cut off immediately to avoid the invasion of pathogens.

Reduce fertilizer concentration

Stop fertilizing during the winter dormancy period and the hot summer period.

The concentration of fertilizer should not be too high, otherwise it will cause leaf burns, and in severe cases the plant will die.
